Some of us walk into the fourth week of Advent a little worn down. The calendar is full, the expectations are loud, and if we’re honest, “love” can feel like one more thing we’re supposed to manufacture; be nicer, be warmer, be more patient… while we’re running on fumes.

But love isn’t mainly about what we give. It’s about what God has already given.

Christmas doesn’t begin with our affection; it begins with God’s action. When the world was dark and weary, God didn’t send a slogan; He sent a Savior.

Not a distant love, not a sentimental love, but a holy, pursuing, rescuing love that stepped into real life and real mess.
