When the Waters Rise
Bunkhouse Beacon - When the Waters Rise
Revelation 12:15-16 NKJV - So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
Psalm 69:1 NKJV - Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.
Isaiah 43:1-3; Exodus 14:10-14
The enemy sent a flood. God used the earth itself to swallow it. This is one of the most striking moments in Revelation 12, not because the flood was dramatic, but because of who stopped it.
God did not send an angel. He did not part the waters. He caused the ground beneath the flood to open and consume it entirely.
Creation obeyed its Creator on behalf of His people.
The lesson is direct: never limit God's deliverance to the options you can see right now.
When David felt spiritually underwater, when Israel stood trapped between Pharaoh and the sea, God's answer came from a direction no one anticipated. He will do the same for you.
Reflection Questions:
What flood are you currently facing, whether relational, financial, physical, or spiritual?
Have you been limiting God's ability to deliver you to only the solutions you can imagine?
Practical Application: Make a list of three ways God has delivered you in the past through unexpected means. Place that list somewhere visible this week as a reminder that God's solutions are rarely the ones you would have chosen for yourself.
Waiting for Him with you,
Lars
