The Power of Persistent Prayer
Bunkhouse Beacon - The Power of Persistent Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV – Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
James 4:7-8a NKJV - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Prayer isn't the weak thing we do after exhausting our human efforts; it's our first response and greatest weapon.
"Pray continually" isn't a suggestion; it's God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Prayer is warfare; it's dependence; it's how the church refuses to fight spiritual battles with human strength.
When you feel your heart ripping apart, when the battle feels impossibly heavy, don't merely ask for strength; ask how to depend on God more fully.
Submit to Him first, then resist the devil. Draw close to God, and Satan must flee.
Our most powerful spiritual position is on our knees, surrendered and dependent.
The spiritual battles raging around you require constant communication with your Commander.
Today, commit to praying before acting in your most challenging situation.
Standing firm with you,
Lars
