More Than Conquerors
Bunkhouse Beacon - More Than Conquerors
Romans 8:37 NKJV - Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV - Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
The Greek word Paul uses in Romans 8:37 carries the meaning of going beyond conquest, of prevailing exceedingly.
He is not describing a believer who barely survives life's battles.
He is describing someone who, because of the resurrection power dwelling within them, cannot ultimately be defeated. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds you that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you. The conqueror is not someone who never enters the fight. The conqueror is someone whom the fight cannot separate from the love of Jesus. That is who you are in Christ.
Reflection: In what area of your life do you most need to declare your identity in Christ rather than accepting the enemy's definition of you?
Practical Application: Using the STAND framework from the Bible study, work through one specific struggle today. Spot the lie, Turn from accusation, Apply the blood, Name what is true, and Declare your identity aloud in prayer.
Waiting for Him with you,
Lars
