The Seed of Promise
Bunkhouse Beacon – The Seed of Promise
Reading: Luke 1:34-35 NKJV 34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
And… Galatians 3:16-29
The angel's announcement to Mary wasn't random; it was the fulfillment of a promise woven through Scripture since Genesis 3:15.
The "seed of the woman" would have no earthly father because humanity could never produce its own savior.
Jesus had to be fully God to be sinless and fully man to represent us.
Born of the Spirit, conceived without sin, He alone could bridge the gap between holy God and fallen humanity.
This miraculous birth reminds us that salvation is entirely God's work, not ours.
We cannot produce righteousness through our own efforts. Like Mary, our response is simply to believe: "Let it be to me according to your word." Faith receives what God provides.
Are there areas of your spiritual life that you are trying to "produce" rather than receive by faith?
Grace and Peace
