Bunkhouse Beacon

Step into the Bunkhouse Beacon

Life gets busy. Our hearts get distracted. That’s why we need daily moments to pause, refocus, and be reminded of God’s presence and promises.
The Bunkhouse Beacon is a simple, daily devotional designed to shine God’s light into your everyday life. Each reflection will point you back to Scripture, offer encouragement for the journey, and give you a practical way to live out your faith—whether you’re at work, at home, or out on the trail.

Think of it as a steady lamp on the porch—always burning, always welcoming, always pointing the way back to Christ.
We’d love for you to join us. Open the Bunkhouse Beacon each day, take a few quiet minutes, and let God’s Word guide your steps.
September 4, 2025 - Bunkhouse Beacon – God's Presence in Suffering Psalm 23
This past Sunday, I explored the reality of suffering and hardship, both in the present and in the end times. We’ll talk about this in detail this coming Sunday in Revelation 6:9-11.

The entire 23rd Psalm reminds us that even in the darkest valleys, God is with us. His rod and staff comfort us.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

As you read this familiar passage, meditate on God's constant presence in your own life. Read it as a love letter just to you, not like a newspaper article or a text message. Replace the words “I”, my”, and “me” with your name.

Then ask yourself, how have I experienced God's guidance and protection in difficult times? Even as we face personal trials or contemplate global tribulations, we can find peace in knowing that our Good Shepherd never leaves us.

Today, consciously walk with God, aware of His presence in every circumstance you face.
