July 5, 2026 - The Flag, The Cross, and The Kingdom

Jul 5, 2026    Lars Dahl

Welcome to Grace Baptist Church in Iron River, WI. Today is Sunday, July 5, 2026

We are so very grateful for your interest in our Church. We are friendly people who focus on applying God’s truth in practical ways; we are not perfect. We could talk about who we are and how grateful we are; however, to experience God working in Grace Baptist Church, we would love it if you visited us at 10:00 am on Sunday to enjoy our worship service. We hope to see you soon! Read on....

As Americans, we have much to be thankful for. For 250 years, God has allowed our nation to experience freedom, opportunity, sacrifice, and blessing. We can thank God for the privilege of freely worshiping, publicly opening His Word, and gathering as His people without fear.

But as Christians, we must remember something even greater: our deepest allegiance is not to a flag, but to Christ. Our greatest hope is not in a nation, but in the Kingdom of God.

Today, as we study The Flag, The Cross, and The Kingdom, we want to thank God for our country, humble ourselves before the cross, and remember that Jesus is the King above every nation.

So we come with grateful hearts, but also surrendered hearts, asking God to make us faithful citizens here on earth while keeping our eyes fixed on our true citizenship in heaven.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20 NKJV
