Walking with Christ
Bunkhouse Beacon – Walking with Christ
Colossians 2:6–7 NKJV
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Walking with Christ isn’t a one-time event; it’s a daily journey. Paul reminds believers that the same faith by which we received Christ should also define how we walk in Him. Salvation isn’t the finish line; it’s the starting point of a lifelong relationship rooted in His presence and truth.
When Paul says to be rooted and built up, he paints a vivid picture: our lives are like trees whose strength depends on deep roots.
The deeper we grow in Christ, through His Word, prayer, obedience, and fellowship, the more stable we become when life’s storms hit. A shallow faith can be toppled by trials, but a rooted believer stands firm, nourished by the unchanging love of Jesus.
And then comes the fruit, abounding in thanksgiving. Gratitude overflows naturally when we truly realize what it means to walk with Christ. Every step is grace.
Every breath is mercy. Every challenge becomes an opportunity to see His faithfulness at work.
Questions for the day…
Are your roots growing deeper in Christ or spreading into the shifting soil of the world?
How can you cultivate a more thankful heart as you walk with Him today?
Grace and peace
