The Foundation of Joy
Bunkhouse Beacon – The Foundation of Joy
Psalm 100:4-5 - Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
Joy doesn't follow thankfulness; it precedes it.
Too often, we wait for circumstances to align before we express gratitude, but God calls us to enter His gates with thanksgiving first.
This isn't about manufactured emotion; it's about acknowledging who God is, regardless of how we feel.
The psalmist reminds us that God is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures forever.
These aren't conditional statements dependent on our circumstances. They are eternal realities.
Today, before you feel joyful, choose to be thankful.
Speak your gratitude aloud. Let thanksgiving be the doorway through which joy enters your life, not the reward you wait to receive.
Question: What would change if you entered today with thanksgiving before waiting to feel Joy?
Happy Thanksgiving
