Bunkhouse Beacon – Digesting before Declaring

Ezekiel 3:1-4 NKJV Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness. 4 Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.

Both Ezekiel and John in Revelation 10 were commanded to eat God's Word, sweet in the mouth, bitter in the belly.

This teaches a crucial truth: we must digest Scripture before we can proclaim it.

The sweetness comes from encountering God's glorious truth; the bitterness from understanding the weight of judgment for those who reject Him.

Many struggle to witness because they haven't spent time consuming God's Word.

Like honey to our taste (Psalm 119:103), Scripture should be our daily sustenance.

When we internalize God's truth, He creates opportunities to share it.

Spend time in the Word, not out of duty, but to know the One who loves you.

Grace and Peace
