Peace and purpose through surrender
Bunkhouse Beacon – Peace and purpose through surrender
Philippians 4:6–7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Peace and purpose don’t come from taking control; they come from giving it up to the One who already has it.
Surrender isn’t passive; it’s the most active step of faith you can take. It’s saying, “Lord, You know better. You lead; I’ll follow.”
When we cling to our plans, we often find anxiety waiting on the other side. But when we release our grip, God fills our open hands with peace. And in that peace, purpose becomes clear, not our purpose, but His.
Jesus didn’t find His mission in asserting His will; He found it in surrender: “Not My will, but Yours, be done.” That single act of surrender changed the course of eternity.
A boat left tied too tightly to the dock during a storm will strain, groan, and sometimes even crack. But one released to ride the waves as designed moves with the current, not against it.
Surrender doesn’t destroy; it frees us to move as God designed.
•What area of your life feels hardest to release to God right now?
•Ask Him to trade your control for His peace.
•Pray: “Lord, teach me to trust You fully, to find my purpose not in doing more, but in surrendering more."
Peace isn’t the absence of storms; it’s the presence of surrender. And in that surrender, you’ll find not only calm but calling.
Peace to you today
