Bunkhouse Beacon - The Patient Judge

2 Peter 3:8-9 NKJV But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

God's patience feels confusing when evil seems to prosper. Why doesn't He act immediately? Because He desires that no one should perish. His delay isn't weakness, it's mercy.

Like a loving father who disciplines reluctantly but justly, God's judgment is His "strange work." He sees every action, hears every thought, and knows every motive. Nothing requires investigation because He is omniscient. Yet He waits, extending grace to the hard-hearted and indifferent, longing for repentance.

But hear this clearly: His patience will cease. History is not endless. Our opportunities to respond, to repent, to be reconciled are limited.

Today is the day of salvation. Don't mistake His patience for indifference.

How does understanding God's patience change how you view current world events?

Are you living with urgency or spiritual laziness?

Grace and Peace
