Why do you do what you’re doing?

Bunkhouse Beacon – Why do you do what you’re doing?

Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV, my life verse says…

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Paul wrote to believers in Colossae who were surrounded by a culture that valued position and recognition. He reminded them that the true believer’s motivation isn’t found in applause or advancement, but in allegiance to Christ alone.

When our hearts are aligned with Him, the ordinary becomes holy. The chores, the care, the service, it all becomes worship.

The Heart Check

Are you doing what you do to be seen by others, or to please the Lord?

Does your motivation fade when no one notices, or grow stronger because He does?

Are you faithful in the unseen things, trusting God for the unseen rewards?

Today, whatever your hands find to do, whether it’s ministry, work, family, or unseen faithfulness, do it heartily, with a full heart and clear purpose. You’re not just doing tasks; you’re honoring the King.

When your 'why' is Jesus, your 'what' and 'how' will always matter.

Grace and peace
