Bunkhouse Beacon – Worship in Spirit and Truth

John 4:19-24 NKJV The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

True worship extends beyond singing songs; it encompasses our entire lives lived in response to God's character.

The heavenly worship described in Revelation 5:11-14 shows countless angels and creatures declaring God's worthiness.

This same God deserves our wholehearted devotion today.

Worship "in spirit and truth" means bringing our authentic selves before God while grounding our praise in who He truly is, sovereign, holy, and unchanging.

When we gather corporately or pray privately, we're participating in something eternal.

This week, consider how your daily activities can become acts of worship. Whether working, serving, or resting, do everything as unto the Lord, recognizing that worship is not confined to Sunday mornings but permeates every moment of life.

Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 4 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Grace and Peace
