Bunkhouse Beacon – Faith like Abraham

Genesis 22:7-8 NKJV But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but here is the lamb for a burnt offering?” 8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.

Genesis 22:14 NKJV And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

Abraham climbed Mount Moriah with his promised son, carrying fire and knife, trusting that "God will provide."

This wasn't blind optimism but seasoned faith built through years of watching God fulfill impossible promises.

When Isaac asked, "Where is the lamb?" Abraham spoke prophetically of the ultimate sacrifice to come.

Centuries later, on that same mountain, now called Jerusalem, another Father would offer His only Son, the Lamb of God.

But this time, no substitute would be provided; Jesus would become the substitute for us.

Abraham's faith wasn't about understanding everything; it was about trusting the One who does.

True faith means moving forward even when you cannot see the entire parade route ahead.

What "impossible" situation requires you to trust that God will provide?

Grace and Peace
