Bunkhouse Beacon - Worship belongs to God Alone

Revelation 13:5-8 NKJV And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Exodus 20:3 NKJV You shall have no other gods before Me.

The central horror of Revelation 13 is not violence or political power.

It is counterfeit worship.

The beast (the antichrist) demands what only God deserves. This is not a new strategy.

Since the beginning, the enemy has worked to redirect the worship that belongs to God toward anything and anyone else.

The commandment against other gods is not simply a rule. It is a reflection of God's deep desire for an undivided relationship with his people.

Worship is not merely what happens on Sunday morning in a worship service. It is the daily orientation of your heart.

Whatever you treasure most, whatever you think about most, whatever you sacrifice most for, that is what you are worshiping.

Reflection: What does the daily pattern of your life reveal about what you truly worship?

Practical Application: For one full day, pay attention to where your time, money, and thoughts naturally go without effort. At the end of the day, evaluate what those patterns reveal about the true priorities of your heart.

In Christ,

Lars
