The Heart of True Worship
Matthew 15:8 NKJV - These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
John 4:23-24 NKJV - But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
God doesn't measure worship by volume, activity, or appearance; He looks at the heart.
It's possible to sing every word, attend every service, and maintain perfect religious behavior while your heart remains distant from Him.
Jesus confronted this hypocrisy: "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me." True worship isn't performance; it's surrender.
It's bowing your body, soul, and spirit before the One who created you.
When the elders in heaven in Revelation 11:16-17 heard that Christ's reign had come, they fell on their faces in worship, not out of obligation but out of overwhelming reverence.
Is your worship genuine or merely habitual?
Worship God privately in spirit and truth, surrendering what you've been holding back.
Grace and Peace
