God Prepares a place for His People.
Bunkhouse Beacon - God Prepares a Place for His People
Revelation 12:6 NIV - The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
Revelation 12:14 NIV – The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.
John 14:1-3 NIV - Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
The wilderness is not a place of abandonment. It is a place of divine preparation. We’ll talk more about this wilderness this coming week.
In Revelation 12, God does not merely point His people toward the wilderness and wish them well. He prepares a place, provides for their needs, and determines the exact duration of their stay.
Nothing about their time in the wilderness is accidental.
The Greek word for "feed" carries the weight of total sustaining care, nourishment, protection, and preservation.
Whatever wilderness season you are walking through today, be assured of this: God has prepared it, He is present in it, and He has already determined when it ends.
Personal Reflection: What wilderness season are you currently in, and have you allowed yourself to receive God's sustaining care within it rather than simply praying your way out of it?
Practical Application: Write down one specific way God has provided for you during a difficult season. Thank Him for that provision today, and ask Him to help you trust His preparation for what lies ahead.
Waiting for Him with you,
Lars
