Bunkhouse Beacon - Love takes Responsibility

John 19:25-27 NKJV - 5 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” 27 Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour, that disciple took her to his own home.

From the cross, amid unbearable suffering, Jesus looked at His mother and His beloved disciple and created a new family bond.

"Woman, behold your son. Behold your mother." Last words matter, and Jesus used His to ensure His mother would be cared for.

This wasn't sentiment; it was obedience to the command to honor parents, even in His final moments.

Love became action. Faith became responsibility.

John didn't delay or make excuses; from that hour, he took Mary into his home.

This teaches us that genuine love doesn't just feel, it does. It takes responsibility. It shows up. It provides.

Where in your life is God calling you to turn love into action? Who needs you to step into responsibility today?

Grace and Peace
