Hard Hearts and Holy Warnings

Revelation 9:20-21 NKJV But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. and… Exodus 9:1-16

In the book of Exodus, Pharaoh's heart grew harder with each plague. The people in Revelation witnessed catastrophic judgments yet refused to repent. How is this possible?

When we repeatedly ignore God's voice, our spiritual sensitivity diminishes. What once convicted us no longer moves us. What once seemed obviously wrong becomes rationalized.

God never judges without warning. His pattern throughout Scripture is grace, rebellion, hardened hearts, proclaimed truth, and finally judgment, but always with opportunities to repent.

I would encourage all of us to examine our own hearts today.

Are there areas where you've grown callous to God's voice?

Where have you rationalized sin or neglected spiritual disciplines?

The fact that you're reading this means God is still speaking, still offering grace. Don't let your heart grow hard. Respond to His gentle warnings today before they become louder tomorrow.

Grace and Peace
