Sunday's always Coming
Bunkhouse Beacon - Sunday's always Coming
John 19:38 NKJV Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away.
John 20:18 NKJV Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.
When the two witnesses lay dead in Jerusalem's streets, it felt like Good Friday, hope extinguished, victory stolen, darkness triumphant.
The disciples also experienced this same crushing defeat when Jesus died. But God's story never ends on Friday.
After three and a half days, breath entered the witnesses, and they stood on their feet.
After three days, Jesus walked out of the tomb.
So, whatever "Good Friday" you're experiencing, broken relationships, spiritual dryness, overwhelming circumstances, remember that Sunday's coming.
God doesn't leave His faithful servants in the grave. He resurrects. He restores. He redeems.
The breath of life that raised Jesus, that raised the witnesses, lives in you through the Holy Spirit.
Your current defeat isn't the final chapter. Keep your thoughts captive, focus on what is noble and right, and trust that resurrection follows crucifixion.
Grace and Peace
