God Prepares a Place for His People

Bunkhouse Devotion - John 14:1-6- God Prepares a Place for His People

John 14:1-6 NKJV - Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Psalm 23:1-6

The same God who prepared a place in the wilderness for the remnant of Israel has prepared a place for you.

Jesus declared this personally and plainly to His disciples over 2,000 years ago, and He has been faithful to that promise ever since.

You are not an afterthought in God's story.

You are the reason the Messiah came, suffered, died, rose, and ascended. He went to prepare something for you that has been in the making for longer than you can comprehend.

Whatever you are facing today, you are held by a God who plans ahead and never forgets His own.

Reflection: Do you genuinely believe that God has prepared something specific for you, or does that promise feel distant and abstract?

Read John 14:1-6 slowly and out loud. Pause after each verse. Let the words of Jesus land personally, not just theologically.

Waiting with you,

Lars
