Don't be afraid, God is with You
Bunkhouse Beacon – Don't be afraid, God is with You
Philippians 4:4-8 NKJV Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 NKJV
Luke 1:29-30 NKJV But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
Mary's first response to the angel was fear. So was Zacharias's. And Joseph's. And the shepherds'.
However, God doesn't scold us for our fear; He addresses it with His presence.
"Don't be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God."
God's love doesn't deny our fears; it replaces them with His presence.
The Bible contains 365 "fear nots,” one for every day of the year.
When anxiety threatens to overwhelm you, remember Philippians 4:8: think on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.
Refocus your mind not on the problem, but on God's promises.
Your fear is real, but God's presence is greater. He is with you.
What fear do you need to replace with God's presence today?
Happy New Year!
