Know your Adversary
1 Peter 5:8-11 NKJV Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
The Bible study reminded us that Satan is real, active, and our adversary, but he is not in control.
He roams like a roaring lion, seeking to devour, yet he operates only within the boundaries God permits. Understanding this truth brings both sobriety and confidence.
Satan's primary role is as "the accuser of the brethren," standing before God day and night, pointing out our failures. Revelation 12: 10 NKJV Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
But here's the victory: after the resurrection of Christ, Satan no longer stands in God’s throne room as an accuser; his authority was stripped, his case dismissed, and his removal set in motion, because the blood of the Lamb settled the verdict forever.
You are not defined by your past, your failures, or the enemy's lies.
You are defined by Christ's finished work on the cross.
Today, January 15th, resist the devil by standing firm in faith, remembering that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Grace and Peace
