Draw near to God
Bunkhouse Beacon – Draw Near to God
James 4:7-10 NKJV - Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." This divine invitation requires our response.
God desires to be central in every aspect of our lives, not compartmentalized into Sunday mornings, but integrated into every moment.
When you draw near through prayer, worship, and obedience, you experience His nearness in return.
This nearness is the fulfillment of our faith, when the Holy Spirit empowers us to open our mouths and share Jesus with others, to live courageously for Him in hostile environments, to trust Him when circumstances scream otherwise.
You are a temple of the Holy Spirit, carrying God's presence wherever you go.
The same God who will one day illuminate the New Jerusalem with His glory wants to illuminate your Monday morning, your difficult conversation, your season of waiting. Draw close today.
Grace and Peace

P.S. Psalm 73:23-26 NKJV - Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. 24 You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all Your works.
